The G704B-MR is engineered as a pneumatic-hydraulic blind-rivet installation tool with a rated pull load of 3,300 lb (14.68 kN) and a setting stroke of 0.540 in (13.72 mm). It can be operated in any position and is designed for use with clean, dry compressed air.

The manual specifies daily inspection, routine cleaning and lubrication of the nose assembly, use of clean dry air, and periodic hydraulic-system service. A dedicated service-tool kit and overhaul components are also referenced in the manual.
